What the Market Data Shows

1. Strong Yearly Growth

All five polymers remain 50–77% higher than last year, with PP leading at 77.26%, followed by LLDPE at 68.98%.

2. Selective Weekly Increases and Corrections

LDPE gained 1.54%, LLDPE rose 1.38% and PVC increased 0.74%. Meanwhile, PP declined 0.96% and HDPE eased 0.19%.

3. Monthly Price Momentum

PVC and LLDPE recorded the strongest monthly gains at 5.98% and 5.90%, respectively. HDPE was the only polymer to register a monthly decline.

4. Crude Oil Remains Elevated

Brent crude declined 0.46% weekly but remains 12.00% higher monthly and 80.49% higher yearly, keeping global energy and feedstock costs important indicators for polymer markets.

PolyMart Perspective

  • Polymer prices remain substantially higher year-on-year, although short-term trends vary across grades.
  • For informed procurement decisions, buyers should continue monitoring crude oil, feedstock trends, producer price revisions, global supply-demand conditions and domestic open-market prices.
  • Maintain inventory according to production requirements and consider phased procurement based on price movements and material availability.
