The week ending 14 December 2025 saw significant shifts across crude, currency, and natural gas markets, reflecting global volatility and changing economic cues. Crude Oil: Crude closed at 61.28, dropping 4.07% from last week’s 63.88. The monthly and quarterly declines were sharper at 4.83% and 8.40%. On a yearly basis, crude is down 17.73% from last year’s 74.49. Despite the broader slide, crude still trades 3.95% above the yearly low of 58.95 recorded on 04 May 2025. However, it remains far below the yearly high of 82.03 set on 15 January 2025, a steep fall of 25.30%. USD INR: The exchange rate closed at 90.58, slipping 0.71% from last week. Monthly and quarterly changes also remained negative at 2.14% and 2.62%. Year-on-year, the rate has weakened by 6.84% compared to 84.78 last year. The yearly high of 84.29 on 05 May 2025 reflects a 7.46% shift, while the yearly low of 90.58 occurred on 14 December 2025, indicating stability at the lower bound. Natural Gas: Natural gas closed at 4.19, facing a sharp weekly decline of 18.32% from 5.13. Monthly prices are down 8.11%, though quarterly performance remains strong with a 40.60% rise. Yearly gains stand at 27.74% from last year’s 3.28. Natural gas is significantly above its yearly low of 2.75 from 24 August 2025, rising 52.36%.
