Karnataka High Court Upholds Quality Controls on Plastic Imports, Supporting 'Make in India' Initiative

The Karnataka High Court has upheld the Union government's quality control order on the import of plastic raw materials, dismissing a plea by the All India HDPE/PP Woven Fabric Manufacturers' Association. The order, effective from January 5, 2024, imposes strict regulations on low-density polyethylene (LDPE), linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE), and high-density polyethylene (HDPE), ensuring conformity to Indian standards.
