PolyMart Weekly Raw Material & Currency Insights
Global commodity and currency markets closed the week with mixed movements across crude oil, natural gas, and the USD–INR pair. Crude oil slipped to 60.47, marking a 1.06% weekly decline and extending its monthly fall to 4.79%. Compared to last quarter, crude is down sharply by 9.31%, and on a yearly basis by 17.03%, despite a mild recovery from the yearly low of 58.92 seen earlier this week. The commodity remains far below its yearly high of 82.03 recorded in January 2025. In currency markets, the USD–INR ended at 89.57, gaining 1.12% week-on-week, but still showing a 1.23% monthly decline. Quarterly and yearly trends reflect persistent weakness, with the rupee strengthening 1.67% and 5.28% respectively over the dollar. The pair remains well under the yearly high of 90.94 registered on 5 May 2025. Meanwhile, natural gas experienced notable volatility, closing at 3.98, down 3.16% weekly and 12.53% monthly. However, quarterly performance remains strong with a 38.19% jump, and the yearly rise stands at 11.17%. Natural gas is still significantly above its yearly low of 2.75, but below its yearly high of 5.28 touched earlier in December. Overall, the week highlighted a cooling crude market, a mildly strengthening USD, and a highly reactive natural gas segment as global energy demand and currency flows continue to evolve.Disclaimer: PolyMart does not offer guarantees regarding the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of the information provided on its platform.
