India Launches Anti-Dumping Probe into PET Film Imports

The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has launched an anti-dumping investigation concerning imports of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) Film from Bangladesh, China, Thailand, and the USA. The case is registered as AD (OI)-48/2025. Domestic producers Chiripal Poly Films, Ester Industries, and Vacmet India have filed the application, alleging that these imports are being sold at unfairly low prices, adversely affecting the domestic industry. The investigation will assess whether the imports are causing material injury to the domestic industry. If confirmed, the DGTR may recommend the imposition of anti-dumping duties, subject to approval by the Ministry of Finance.
