HMEL Hits 2 Million Tonnes Polymer Sales in FY25, Driven by Demand Surge & Strategic Expansion

HPCL-Mittal Energy Ltd (HMEL) has achieved a record-breaking polymer sales milestone of 2 million tonnes in FY 2024–25, marking a significant achievement in India’s petrochemical sector. This performance coincides with the first full operational year of HMEL’s advanced petrochemical facility in Bathinda, Punjab. The integrated plant houses a 1.2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) multi-feed cracker, alongside 1.2 MTPA polyethylene (PE) and 1.0 MTPA polypropylene (PP) capacities. The $3 billion expansion has enabled HMEL to address surging demand across key industries like automotive, manufacturing, high-performance materials, and specialty chemicals. With a focus on AI-driven logistics, doorstep delivery, and tailored customer services, the company has positioned itself ahead of peers in terms of accessibility and value. Its 11.3 MTPA refinery, supported by a 1,017 km crude pipeline from Gujarat, ensures reliable feedstock and cost competitiveness amid global volatility. HMEL’s backward-integrated setup continues to offer pricing and quality advantages, reducing import dependency.
