In the week ending 12th September 2025, global commodity markets reflected a mixed mood across crude oil, natural gas, and currency exchange rates. Crude oil prices closed at 66.99, posting a 2.27% weekly gain and a 1.32% monthly rise. However, the quarterly trend stayed weak at -3.42%, with a sharper -6.92% fall year-to-date. Prices are still 18.33% lower than the yearly peak of 82.03 seen on 15th January 2025, but remain comfortably above the yearly low of 58.95 touched on 4th May 2025. The Indian Rupee showed marginal stability against the US Dollar, ending the week at 88.27. Performance remained nearly flat with a -0.10% weekly change, while monthly and quarterly losses deepened to -0.78% and -3.14% respectively. On a yearly scale, the Rupee weakened -5.18%, moving between a high of 83.48 in September 2024 and a recent low of 88.27 on 12th September 2025. Natural gas prices slipped to 2.94, marking a -3.29% weekly fall. Despite a strong 5.76% monthly gain, the commodity faced a steep -16.95% quarterly decline. On a yearly basis, gas showed resilience with an 11.79% rise, even standing 27.83% higher year-on-year. However, prices remain well below the yearly high of 4.49 (10th March 2025), reflecting a -34.52% gap.
