GAIL and BCPL to Implement Scheduled Shutdowns; Lower Allocations Likely in February–March

Two leading petrochemical producers, GAIL (India) Ltd. and Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Ltd. (BCPL), are set to undertake planned shutdowns next month, with lower product allocations expected during February and March, according to industry sources. Based on initial guidance from their capacity planning teams, GAIL is likely to operate at around 80% allocation in both February and March as maintenance and turnaround work reduces throughput at key facilities. BCPL, the Assam-based petrochemicals complex with substantial cracker capacity, is expected to allocate about 90% in February, followed by 80% in March, as it carries out its scheduled maintenance and upgrade program. Such reductions are part of routine turnaround cycles common in the sector, aimed at maintaining long-term operational reliability and safety standards.
