Energy markets closed on 27 February 2026 with crude oil strengthening further, while natural gas continued its downward spiral and USD INR showed limited movement. Crude oil settled at 72.87, rising 1.55% weekly, with gains of 9.43% monthly and 15.91% quarterly. However, it remains marginally -0.95% lower year-on-year compared to 27 February 2025. Prices are trading 23.68% above the yearly low of 58.92 recorded on 16 December 2025, and -7.58% below the yearly high of 78.85 seen on 19 June 2025. In currency markets, USD INR closed at 91.07, declining -0.37% weekly, while posting a 0.44% monthly rise. The pair remains -1.91% lower quarterly and -4.28% lower year-on-year. It stands -8.04% below the yearly high of 84.29 recorded on 5 May 2025, and 1.05% above the yearly low of 92.04 touched on 28 January 2026. Meanwhile, Natural Gas dropped to 2.85, recording a sharp -6.25% weekly decline, alongside a steep -25.20% monthly, -38.31% quarterly, and -27.48% yearly fall. The commodity is only 3.64% above its yearly low of 2.75 recorded on 24 August 2025, and remains deeply -46.02% below the yearly high of 5.28 seen on 5 December 2025.
